The PAVA Max Payload Less Lethal Live Rounds are ideally suited for riot situations where officers need to create an intense barrier cloud of extremely hot pepper irritant. They are highly effective for safely dislodging barricaded suspects by filling enclosed spaces with an insufferable cloud of irritant powder, and fill many other less-lethal roles as well.

These Peppershot™ PAVA RAP4 Less Lethal Projectiles are hard plastic spheres built to burst on impact. They contain a very fine capsaicin II (chili pepper based) dust-like powder. RAP4 Less Lethal Projectiles are filled with enough capsaicin powder to irritate a suspect's eyes, nose and throat. These Peppershot™ PAVA Max Payload Less Lethal Live Rounds are filled with ten times the standard amount of irritant, for a total 5% PAVA payload that will incapacitate more violent suspects, more effectively, more quickly. You can quickly tell the difference between these Max Payload rounds and standard-payload Live Rounds by the half black, half ruby shell on the Max Payload rounds...compared to the full ruby shells around standard Live Rounds.
By increasing the rounds' effectiveness ten-fold, the Peppershot™ PAVA Max Payload rounds minimize officers' need to shoot multiple rounds, which means more tactical payload per magazine for fewer magazine changes and fewer overall shots downrange. This greatly improves officer safety, and decreases the total required number of shots for which they will be liable.
The RAP4 Peppershot™ PAVA Less Lethal System offers effective tools for achieving suspect compliance. The projectiles are delivered by a high-pressure system and arrive on target with enough kinetic force to get the suspect's attention, unleashing a cloud of capsaicin powder into their face (eyes, nose and throat). This is known to cause choking, gagging, coughing, running nose and running, tight-shut eyes, which generally takes the fight out of even the most aggressive suspects...while greatly inhibiting their ability to resist detention, evade capture, or continue an assault.
Because the projectiles break upon impact, they do not penetrate skin or pose ricochet hazards, making the RAP4 Peppershot™ PAVA Less Lethal System safe even at contact range. As they burst on impact and fill the vicinity with the irritant powder, by using the RAP4 Peppershot™ PAVA Less Lethal System officers don't have to hit their target to subdue the suspect. By shooting in their vicinity, the suspect will be overwhelmed by a cloud of irritant powder.
Even when the suspect is facing away, the officer can shoot into a wall or object in front of the suspect, leaving the suspect facing--or running into--a barely visible cloud of irritation powder. RAP4 Peppershot™ PAVA Less Lethal Projectiles can be delivered effectively up to 150 feet away.
